Environment Canada has issued a special weather statment calling for an extreme heat event over the Canada Day long-weekend in Renfrew County.
The weather agency says that showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow will bring humid air to Southern Ontario. Daytime highs are expected to be in the low to mid 30s, while humidex will make it feel like mid 40s.
Environment Canada says there won’t be much relief from the heat overnight either, as overnight lows are only expected to drop to the low 20s. The warm weather could last until mid-week based on current predictions.
