If you plan on being outside much this weekend, make sure to stay hydrated.
That’s the message from the Renfrew County and District Health Unit. Coordinator of Communications and Emergency Preparedness Courtney Trombley says with weather as hot as predicted, you need to be aware of the dangers of dehydration.
Environment Canada says with humidity, it could feel hotter than 40 degrees this weekend at some points. Trombley says there’s signs to tell if someone is dehydrated.
Overnight temperatures won’t offer much relief from the heat this weekend either, as Environment Canada says it could still be above 20 degrees overnight.
Trombley also mentions that you should avoid sugary drinks and caffeine, as they can actually dehydrate you as well.
