The warm weather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

That’s according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng, who says the hot weather from the long weekend will continue this week.

Cheng says that temperatures will start cooling down Thursday night because of a cold front coming in from the Midwest. He also says that the toughest part about a heatwave like this one is the overnight temperatures not getting cool enough.

Overnight temperatures this week are expected to be in the high teens according to Environment Canada.

Cheng says that while not many temperatures records were broken, the week-long heatwave is one that was unique for its length. He says the extreme heat warning will remain in effect until at least Thursday.
