Local OPP detachments wrap up long weekend driving campaign

Speeding charges were the most laid during the Canada Day long weekend in Renfrew County.

That’s according to results from multiple OPP detachments, as police were focusing on aggressive driving during the long weekend.

Killaloe OPP handed out 97 speeding charges over the course of the weekend, as well as three seatbelt charges, two distracted driving charges and one moving violation.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP laid 52 speeding charges over the four days, as well as 13 moving violations and five impaired driving charges.
