If you’re driving and see flashing lights behind you, make sure to pull over.
That’s the message from Madawaska Valley Fire Chief Corwin Quade, who says drivers not pulling over for fire trucks as of late has been an issue.
Quade says you can get a ticket for not pulling over for a police car, fire truck or ambulance.
However, if you see a green flashing light that means a volunteer fire fighter is behind you. While you can’t be ticketed for not pulling over for a green flashing light on a car, Quade says it’s still important to let them by.
Quade says the fire department has been its busiest the past few weeks during a total fire ban.
