Killaloe OPP lay numerous driving charges

Killaloe OPP had a busy Thanksgiving weekend, as it laid more than 30 charges through Operation Impact, a program to stop bad drivers.

Most were speeding charges, but there was one stunt driving charge and one distracted driving charge.

A three-vehicle smash up happened at 1:30 p.m. on the holiday Monday on Highway 60, near Tea Lake campground. One vehicle hit the rear of another, causing it to move forward and hit another.

A 29-year-old SUV driver from Woodbridge was charged with careless driving, but no injuries were reported.

Also, a Toronto driver was charged with careless driving, after losing control and hitting a tree on Centennial Ridges Road in Algonquin Park. That collision happened at 8 p.m. Friday night. The vehicle was towed, but there were no injuries.

Before Thanksgiving, there was another crash, this one involving a motorcycle on Schutt Road in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan at about 2:30 p.m. last Thursday.

The 53-year-old rider was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Investigations into the crashes are ongoing and anyone with information can call Killaloe OPP.
