About 330 butterflies were released into the air in Madawaska Valley recently. As they fluttered away, they brought in about $15,000 to support palliative care needs.
St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation says its annual Butterfly Release event on July 30, was a success. With this year’s total, the event has now raised about $79,000 in its eight-year history.
Supporters paid to purchase butterflies to release them at either Water Tower Park or in a personal place.
The money goes to Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care, which supports people and families facing life-limiting conditions.
