Eastern Ontario hit with Another Heat Warning

Environment Canada says it could be the longest and most significant heat wave of this summer so far.

Heat warnings are in effect for much of southern and eastern Ontario.

Bancroft, Hastings Highlands, Western and Eastern Lanark Counties and Renfrew County are all expecting temperatures in the 30s and humidexes peaking in the low 40s.

The public is being asked to keep safety in mind, staying hydrated, caring for the elderly, keeping their pets inside and to do whatever you can to stay cool.

The good news however, is the nights will be cooling down thanks to lingering humidity.

Fire bans are also still in effect for most of the region.
