A suspended driver pulled over during a traffic stop in Marmora and Lake Township faces drug trafficking charges.
Central Hastings OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Sunday (Dec. 29) at 11 p.m., when the driver was travelling 70 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
The 45-year-old from Trent Hills was arrested for prohibited driving.
A search of his pickup truck revealed cocaine, suspected hydromorphone pills, contraband cigarettes, more than $400 in cash and items associated with drug trafficking.
Charges include two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and driving with readily available liquor.
The accused was scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing today (Dec. 30).
A second person, age 37, of Peterborough, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and was released from custody, with a bail hearing set for next month.
