Construction began this week on the Combermere Bridge (County Structure B145) and is expected to continue until November.
The bridge is located on the main street (County Road 62) in the village of Combermere.\
During construction the bridge will be limited to a single, alternating, lane of traffic, with traffic signals in place.
Pedestrians will still have access to the bridge during construction.
Mill Street at the intersection with County Road 62 (Combermere Road) will be closed.
This is a capital infrastructure project funded by Renfrew Country, who is responsible for the country road and bridge.
According to the county, the project is expected to require two construction seasons to complete.
“The first phase shall commence April 2, 2025, with the bridge being fully opened by November, 2025. The second phase of construction is anticipated to commence May, 2026; however, the Contractor is making efforts to complete all construction in phase 1.”
