There could be reduced visibility at times in the heavy snow.
There will also be strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h tonight.
The timeline:
Heavy snow is expected to impact areas near Georgian Bay early this afternoon, progressing eastwards through the day, reaching Barry’s Bay and Petawawa by this evening.
Strong winds and local blowing snow are expected tonight into Tuesday morning.
Additional information:
“For some areas precipitation may initially begin as rain but will quickly transition to heavy snow as temperatures fall in the wake of a strong cold front. The snow will taper off from west to east late tonight through Tuesday morning In addition to the snow, strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will also develop tonight. Reduced visibility in blowing snow can be expected at times, particularly over exposed areas. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
