Upper Ottawa Valley(UOV) OPP recently wrapped up their Easter long weekend seat belt campaign which started last Friday and ended yesterday.
Over the weekend officers were on the lookout for motorists not obeying seatbelt laws.
Seven seatbelt charges were laid throughout the weekend.
Although seatbelt use was the main traffic focus of the weekend, officers also conducted enforcement and education related to other negative driving behaviours including distracted driving, impaired driving and aggressive driving.
In addition to the seatbelt offences, officers laid three impaired driving related charges, 31 speeding charges, one distracted driving charge, one charge under the Liquor Licence Control Act and three charges relating to insurance.
Over the course of the four-day campaign officers also responded to over 290 calls for service.
