After benefitting from what he saw as “excellent patient care” at St. Francis Memorial Hospital’s (SFMH) emergency department, the late John Simpson of Whitney has willed the hospital a sizable gift.
Simpson’s nephew, Tom Simpson, the executor of the will, presented the donation of $10,000 to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation on April 22.
“During one of his visits, John was impressed by RN Hope Peters, who assisted with his care. Having no descendants himself, John was inspired to donate a portion of his estate to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (SFVHF),” the organization stated in a news release Thursday.
The money donated will go toward hospital equipment needs at SFMH.
