“It’s all about affordability. That was the only thing on people’s minds.”

Gallant was first elected in 2000 as a member of the former Canadian Alliance.

Gallant told MyBarrysBayNow she is ready to get to work and looks forward to representing her riding again.

The MP said she will continue to support two big titans in the region: Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and CFB Petawawa.

Also on the ballot Monday night in the riding were Eileen Jones-Whyte (NDP) who finished in third place with about four per cent of the vote.

Danilo Velasquez (NDP), Randy Briand (United), Stefan Klietsch (Independent) and Seth Malina (Independent) were well back of the front runners.

Gallant won the 2021 federal election with 49.5 per cent of the vote, with Jodie Primeau of the NDP in second place with 12,263 votes and Mills in third with 11,335.
