Bancroft’s Mayor Announces Leave of Absence

Bancroft’s Mayor has taken a leave of absence.

That’s according to a letter to council from Mayor Bernice Jenkins, who says the leave is on the advice of her doctor and family.

Deputy Mayor Paul Jenkins will be the Acting Mayor during that time.

He says one of the principles he would like to see from council while he is acting mayor is sustainability.

There is no word yet on when Mayor Bernice Jenkins will return from her leave.
