Bark Lake Dam Release to be Increased as it Reaches Capacity

OPG says it will be increasing the discharge of water from the Bark Lake Dam in order to control the levels as the lake is reaching capacity.

Residents downstream of Bark Lake on Lake Kamaniskeg and on the Madawaska River should expect a rise in water levels.

The Township of Madawaska Valley says sand and sand bags are available for any residents who need them.

The township’s Operations department is working to relieve washouts and blocked culverts and will be prioritizing work with staff throughout tonight and tomorrow.
