Yakabuski Pushing Ministry to Activate Disaster Recovery due to Flooding

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski is asking the province to activate its disaster recovery for the residents of Renfrew County.

Minister of Municipal Affairs Bill Mauro says he’s touched base with local leaders on the status of flooding throughout the region.

Yakabuski says he appreciates the minister reaching out to local leaders but frustration and uncertainty is growing for some residents.

He says the flooding has reached historical levels, recent rains over the past weekend and forecasted for later this week makes this critical.

Mauro says the activation will have to come once the flood waters diminish and ministry staff can make assessments on the ground.
