Madawaska Valley’s Fire Chief Corwin Quade has ordered a mandatory evacuation of Pine Cliff Resort in Combermere.
It comes as contractors and owners of properties in the area have been working to stop erosion from a bottlenecked area of the Madawaska River.
A number of landslides have washed away a few hundred feet of the shoreline.
Only emergency personnel and equipment operators are allowed in the area, and everyone else is being asked to stay away. You will be allowed to return once the situation is under control.
