New Census Data Shows County’s Average Age Older than That of Province and Country

The average age in the Madawaska Valley is higher than Renfrew County’s, along with the province’s and country’s.

That’s according to results from the 2016 Census, showing the average age in the township is just over 50 years old.

Of that, 57 per cent of the population is between 15 and 64 years old.

Over 31 per cent of the population is 65 and up, while just shy of 12 per cent is under 15.
