Township Finalizes Preparations for Flood Relief

The Township of Madawaska Valley is preparing for today and this weekend’s forecasted rain and its impact on residents experiencing flooding.

Fire Chief Corwin Quade says municipalities have been in constant contact with the MNRF, OPG and RPG over the last week.

Quade says the historic water levels on the Madawaska River, Bark and Kamaniskeg lakes are expected to rise, he’s just not sure by how much.

Boats are standing by for first responders and municipal staff should accessibility be an issue over the weekend while responding to calls.
