Local Emergency Room Nurse Among Nominees for Nightingale Award

St. Francis Memorial Hospital is being put on the map in a big way thanks to the service and dedication of one of its most senior registered nurses.

Tammy Dunne was among the nominees for the Toronto Star’s annual Nightingale Award for her exceptional work in the field.

Dunne says it came as a surprise but was none-the-less humbling.

Dunne says it’s a big deal for the hospital and its staff as the award puts the spotlight on Madawaska Valley and local health care.

Nominees for the award are announced at the beginning of National Nursing Week every year.
