The County of Renfrew is making purchasing a house a little easier for first time home buyers in the area.
The program provides up to 10 per cent assistance on what the county classifies as low to moderate-income households.
That means to qualify you must have combined household income at or below around $80,000 and the home price cannot exceed $216,000.
County Warden Jennifer Murphy says it’s thanks to funding from both the federal and provincial levels of government which has contributed to the extension of the program.
Applications can be done through the Renfrew County Housing Corporation on a first-come, first-serve basis.
