Highway 62 reopens following washout

Highway 62 towards the north end of Bancroft has now reopened following a washout near Eagles Nest Park.

The road was closed since this morning because of a washout caused by a broken dam. Bancroft’s Public Works Manager Perry Kelly says the road was reopened at around 9:30pm tonight.

But, Kelly says you might still run into some rough patches on the road, and drivers are being asked to use caution. Crews will continue to work on repairs to the road over the course of the next few days.
