After two cases of mosquitoes in the Renfrew County carrying West Nile Virus, the Renfrew County District Health Unit is reminding residents to be cautious.
Mosquitoes were found in Laurentian Hills and near Pembroke carrying the virus in the last month, and human cases of the virus have been popping up all around Ontario.
Acting Manager of Environmental Health for the Renfrew County and District Health Unit Mike Grace says that while there haven’t been any human cases in the county, they’re still keeping an eye on it.
Grace also says you can take steps on your own property to avoid mosquito breeding.
The health unit also says you can wear long clothes are dawn or dusk, which is when mosquitoes are most common.
