Madawaska Valley Township Finance Committee has begun discussing the vacant role of Recreation and Community Development Coordinator.
The topic was brought forward by CAO Doug Robertson, as he believes the position should be filled as soon as possible by the township.
Some members of municipal council think the job’s duties should be restructured before somebody new steps into the position.

The position has been vacant since July when Paul Nopper was let go by the township for confidential reasons. Since then other members of the township offices have been working together to accommodate the vacancy.
