The Madawaska Valley has taken home some hardware at the annual Communities in Bloom Provincial Awards.
Madawaska Valley took home five “blooms” at this year’s provincial event, which now makes them one of six communities in Ontario eligible to compete at the national competition.
Madawaska Valley also took home an award for landscape which includes planning, design, construction and maintenance of parks and green spaces.

Blooms are awarded for tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry and trails, and landscape and floral displays.
The national awards ceremony will be held this weekend in Ottawa, with judging having taken place this past summer.
