MP Bossio Pushing For Rural Support At House Of Commons

Canada’s House of Commons resumes Monday for its fall sessions, and nearby MP is happy to be going back.

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio says he is looking forward to using these sessions to push for rural issues, like how to build long-term, sustainable communities.

Bossio says one of his main focuses heading back to the House of Commons will be looking into economic development resources that will help small businesses start-up and grow.

As a member of the federal Indigenous Committee, Bossio says he will also look into how the government can further reconciliation efforts. Bossio is also a member of the Environment Committee, and says he is excited to receive the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act this year.

Bossio says it’s important to represent rural issues in the House of Commons. In the past, it has led the government to provide funding for rural infrastructure, and high speed internet.

The House of Commons sits 11:00am on Monday in Ottawa.
