Moose Population Declining In Ontario

A recent report from the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario has shown that moose populations in the province are declining quickly.

Reports from the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario show that moose population is down province wide about 20% in the last decade.

Environmental Commissioner of Ontario Dianne Saxe says a reason for this is the warmer climate.

Saxe also says areas southeast of Algonquin Park have a higher survival rate for moose calves than other parts of the province.

Saxe says that there are just over 92,000 moose in Ontario now, which is down from 115,000 in the early 2000s.

The most recent environmental report can be found here.
