Rural Northern Net given all-clear to build new tower in Barry’s Bay

Better internet is coming to Barry’s Bay.

That’s because internet provider Rural Northern Net has been given the green light from Madawaska Valley Council to build a tower near Water Tower Park.

Rural Northern Net Owner Jason Peplinski says the new tower will result in faster, more reliable internet.

Peplinski says the addition of the tower also won’t be a burden on the township as far as upkeep goes.

Rural Northern Net operates out of Bancroft, but originated in Barry’s Bay and says it’s dedicated to offering better internet options for rural communities.

The new tower will stand between 40 and 70 feet, and should only take three to four days to build once construction starts.
