A young entrepreneur from Barry’s Bay has been recognized with a Summer Company Award.

Enterprise Renfrew County has recognized 19-year-old Paige Mask as part of the 2018 Summer Company Program, which is aimed towards teaching young people to be successful business people.

Mask runs her company, Paige Micalea Esthetics, out of Barry’s Bay and offers manicures, pedicures and special occasion makeup among other services. She says getting the award has really helped her business.

Mask says she heard about the program through a friend and knew it would be a great chance to be her own boss.

Mask says that the Summer Company Program helped her learn more about the business side of things, which she didn’t learn while in school. The application to the program included making a business plan, which is something Mask had to learn in the process.

Collen Sadler from Enterprise Renfrew County says young entrepreneurs are the backbone of Ontario’s economy, while the Summer Company Program has guided over 130 young business owners to success within Renfrew County.

Other Summer Company Award winners from around Renfrew County were in Arnprior, Deep River and Douglas.
