It’s day three of a heat wave, warnings have been posted by Environment Canada throughout eastern Ontario.

Postponing any strenuous outdoor activities, checking in with the elderly and ill, making sure pets are staying cool and staying hydrated must be priorities.

The humidex is expected to climb to 40 degrees today and likely will not be lifted until Friday evening.

Local health units are stressing the importance of taking the warning seriously.

With the extreme heat, fire bans are still in place for Madawaska Valley, Algonquin, Hastings Highlands and much of the Ottawa Valley.
