Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) OPP responded to 17 motor vehicle collisions over the weekend.

The majority occurred during snow and ice storms last Friday to Sunday (March 29-31).

No serious injuries were reported.

OPP remind drivers of the collision reporting centre at the UOV Detachment (Pembroke Site) at 77 International Drive in the City of Pembroke.

Motorists involved in a property damage collision are able to report their collision at the CRC.

In a statement, OPP said property damage crashes consume a large amount of police resources and time and put all involved at risk of being involved in a secondary collision and greater risk of injury.

“However, many collisions on our highways and roadways are minor in nature and drivers are able to clear their vehicles quickly and safely off the highway without police assistance.”

OPP said an officer at a collision may direct those involved to attend the CRC if all the criteria are met.

Motorists are also reminded to remove accumulated snow on their vehicle prior to traveling and to adjust their driving behaviors when winter driving conditions arise.
