Crews Working to Save Homes in Combermere as Water Levels Continue Rise

As water levels continue to rise downstream of Bark Lake, some residents are already being impacted.

One such place is a bottleneck area of the Madawaska River which then flows south towards Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan.

Undertow from the churning water has eroded much of the riverbank and homes along Pinecliff Road are at risk of being swept into the river.

Owner of Pinecliff Resort Brian Allingham says contractors are on site attempting to save the banks.

Crews are working to curb the erosion and save a number of homes on the bank.

Hundreds of feet in either direction along with more than 30 feet from the bank, to the homes, has been lost already.
