Water Levels Still Expected to Rise as Bark Lake Release Slowed

Ontario Power Generation says it has begun the process of slowing release from the Bark Lake Dam into Lake Kamaniskeg and the Madawaska River system.

OPG reported inflows were slightly down day-over-day yesterday.

Hastings Highlands Operations Manager Adrian Tomasini says everything seems to be in good shape in Hastings Highlands, but some minor repairs are needed.

The Township of Madawaska Valley says water levels on Lake Kamaniskeg and the Madawaska River system will continue to rise.

Water levels are still expected to rise in North Algona Wilberforce and the Bonnechere Valley over the next two days before lowering.

Townships throughout the region have made sand and sandbags available upon request for anyone affected by flooding.
