The Township of Madawaska Valley says if you have any waterlogged debris or items damaged by flooding to dispose of, special days will set up to do so.
The township will be waiving all tipping fees if you are bringing in any flood damaged household materials such as furniture and other items at its Bark Lake landfill.
The site will be waiving the fees beginning on the May 20th long weekend, the weekend of the 27th and the weekend of June 3rd.
However, fees for appliances containing Freon such as refrigerators and freezers will still be in place.
Operations Manager Hilary Kutchkoskie says on-site staff will be checking identification and inspecting all of the materials being brought to the landfill.
The township will be coming up with a plan for sand and sandbag retrieval following next week’s meeting with county.
