Both of Renfrew County’s school boards have approved their 2017-2018 budgets.
The Renfrew County District School Board has approved an almost $135-million budget for the next school year. The school board says 79 per cent of it will be put towards in-class instruction and support.
Board Chair Wendy Hewitt says the budget demonstrates a sensible fiscal approach, while providing a dynamic, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that supports student achievement and well-being.
Meanwhile, the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board has approved its $68-million budget. The board says the budget will support safe, healthy, faith-based schools that encourage individual achievement, equity, and inclusiveness.
