The Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant for the Madawaska Valley Fitness Centre is set to end in October, but there are steps being taken to keep the fitness centre open.
The final installment of the OTF grant has yet to be received by the township, and is for $31,000.
Mayor Kim Love has created a plan to make the fitness centre more sustainable, but would need to request an extension for the grant.

The extension would not provide more money, it would just allow the township more time to use the supplied money.
The fitness centre would be in agreement with Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College as well as the Madawaska Valley Falcons regarding memberships to bring in more revenue.
