It’s time for the season closer for the PEMBROKE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. The orchestra and principal conductor Eve Legault, invite you to attend the final concert of this season, our Made in Canada: Stars of the Valley concert, Friday, May 2 at 7pm at Festival Hall, Pembroke.
This concert will feature all homegrown local talent
The evening opens with Mozart’s beloved overture from the Magic Flute, followed by two arias featuring soprano Jessica Belanger. Cellist Brandon Wilkie performs David Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody. Rob Carson, on soprano saxophone, features in Vocalise by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Violinist Kirsten Waymann takes a star turn in Schindler’s List by John Williams. Oboist Nick Cooper performs in Gabriel’s Oboe by Ennio Morricone. Pianist Dexter Sernoskie solos in the third movement of the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2. And finally, the highlight of the evening, the world première of Pembroke Overture by composer Sarah J. Coles.
