MUSIC FROM THE OZARKS TO THE OTTAWA VALLEY
Missouri-born musician Joe Newberry and the Ottawa Valley’s own April Verch showcase traditional tunes, heartfelt ballads, step dancing, and original songs by way of Canada and the Ozarks. With beautiful harmony singing, impressive fiddle, banjo and guitar instrumentals, and some energetic dancing, these two award-winning musicians captivate audiences with a concert that makes us appreciate both the origins and staying power of traditional music, from old-time to bluegrass. The Newberry & Verch concert will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday, February 28 at the Rankin Recreation & Culture Centre.
